Information on Speaking at the Asia Law Forum

Over the past eight years the Asia Law Forum has had the privilege to host numerous prominent legal professionals and scholars, and eminent government and business leaders in the field. For a selective list of past speakers, see here. We are always looking for thought-provoking, topical speakers to engage the Yale community, so please contact us with a proposed topic and time if you are interested in speaking.

Topic of Speech

The Asia Law Forum is flexible on the topic of speeches. Former speakers have orated on wide range of topics related to Greater Asia, including economic development in China, US foreign policy towards Greater Asia, and the social influences of law. Generally, we prefer topics that are of current interest and likely to engage the larger community. We do not require that speeches be given in English, and may be able to arrange translation services if necessary.

Reimbursements

The Asia Law Forum is a student-organization. Due to the the generosity of the Yale Law School, we are able to reimburse speakers for travel, accomodations, and other incidental expenses for the visit to New Haven. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer honoraria to speakers.

Scheduling

We are generally flexible in terms of scheduling throughout the academic year.
