SOUTH AMERICA

LINKAGE PROGRAM

The linkage program is a yearly exchange program between

Yale Law School and universities in Chile, Brazil, and Argentina.

Every year, about fifteen US Linkage students are chosen to spend

four weeks the following summer in Chile, Argentina, or Brazil

(students spend June in Chile and Argentina, and August in Brazil).

Approximately the same number of students from Latin America

come to Yale Law School during three weeks at Spring term. They

are hosted at YLS Linkage students’s homes, participate in

scheduled activities, attend meetings and classes, meet with

professors and professionals in various organizations, go on weekend

trips, share lunches and dinners with YLS Linkage students, and go

out with them at night.  The activities for the South American students

are organized by newly-selected YLS Linkage participants, who are

supervised/assisted by former Linkage students and the Coordinator of

International Programs and Conferences (CIPC) at Yale Law School.

Similarly, the Latin American students organize the South American

portion of the program.
