Praveen Fernandes

(photo)Praveen Fernandes is a public policy advocate with the Human Rights Campaign, where he works on issues relating to HIV/AIDS; gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender health; sex education; same-sex marriage and judicial nominations. Praveen has a J.D. from the University of North Carolina College of Law, an M.P.H. from the University of North Carolina School of Public Health and a B.A. in biomedical ethics from Brown University. Before working for HRC, Praveen practiced health care law with the law firm of Ropes & Gray, L.L.P. Praveen has also worked for the Senate Labor Committee under Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and the President's Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments, an ethics committee that served as a precursor to the National Bioethics Advisory Committee.
